Questions before you start
What does a fixed-scope price cover?
The rooms, systems and finish selections listed in your proposal. Changes need your written approval, including their price and schedule impact.
Do I need a permit?
Plan on one for a basement finish. Your city reviews the scope and tells you which plans and inspections apply.
When do I get a written schedule?
Majesty provides a written schedule and completion target once permits and selections are final.
What makes a basement bedroom legal?
An escape window alone is not enough. The city reviews escape openings, room size, ceiling height, ventilation, heating, alarms and other applicable requirements.
Can I rent my finished basement?
Confirm the approved use with your city before designing a rental suite. Finishing a basement or adding a second kitchen does not by itself give permission to rent.
